I’m Andrew from Primermagazine.com, one of the hardest things about dressing well is the sheer cost of it. Clothes are expensive even when you’re shopping at affordable stores, especially if you have to buy dressy clothes for work and casual clothes for the evenings and weekends. And it can be incredibly frustrating because it feels like we spend a lot of money in both worlds and we can’t combine the two. Today I’m going to show you some simple tricks on how you can make double the outfits with the clothes you already have. Here is a cool outfit I put together that could be worn for a lot of different occasions. A coffee date, dinner with your friends, some sort of street casual launch or release party. It’s a decidedly casual outfit because of the denim jacket and the white leather sneakers (which were only $35 dollars). When we’re trying to dress down some business casual elements I like to think in terms of packaging. We take this business casual outfit, which is the shirt, the sweater and the pants, and we’re packaging it differently to create a more casual outfit. I like to call these items chameleon items because of their versatility. If you were to take the same outfit and wear it with a tie and a pair of dress boots, the outfit is clearly a more dressed-up outfit. And the only thing that we’ve changed are some of the details – it’s the same shirt, same sweater and same pants. A denim jacket is an essential because you can wear it with a t-shirt or you can wear it with a button up shirt and it kind of dresses it up. It’s a very cool smart casual element. But the fit of your denim jacket is essential to being able to wear it. The frustrating thing is, especially for me, I’m between a small and a medium, and when I bought my denim jacket from Levi’s the small was a little small and the medium was clearly too big. Now a lot of people would default to buying the medium because the small is too small. But the reality is with the denim jacket it will stretch and it will stretch into that perfect fit that you want because it needs to be slim while you’re wearing it. But a good test is to put it on and size down till it’s a smidge uncomfortable and then just Incredible Hulk it and it will stretch out to the size that you need it to be. Tell me what you this look in the comments below, would you wear it? Do you have the elements already? And please if you like this video, if you found it helpful, or if you love the outfit please subscribe.
