'Hi! We’re (xtra)Ordinary Athletes, and we’re here, helping you fit fitness into even the busiest of lives. So, here’s the story of xOA: The five of us (Al, Cristina, Ed, Irada and Kat) have been friends for years now, and all of us wanted to find ways to add some activity and fun into our regular routines. We all have regular jobs and spend WAY too much time being sedentary (a common plight…), so we started getting our group of friends together to do active things, like playing Ultimate Frisbee, running obstacle races (helloooo Spartan Race!), and the five of us started getting together for weekly workouts, to keep each other motivated. Now, we are by no means all on the same page when it comes to fitness. Kat’s been lifting since she was a teenager. Al found fitness as an adult and became a personal trainer. Ed has an on again off again relationship with fitness but is really athletic and active. Irada has always counted fitness and sports as a top priority. And Cristina is a self-proclaimed reluctant worker-outer who would rather be reading/netflixing/anything else instead of being in the gym. But that doesn’t matter once we’re hitting a workout together. We can all find exercises and routines that work for us, with our own specific abilities, schedules, and interests. That’s the thing about fitness, it really is for everyone. So once we were getting together for workouts every week, we offhandedly thought “Haha, wouldn’t it be fun to start a YouTube channel about fitness for regular people, like us?”. CLEARLY that idea snowballed, and here we are! xtraOrdinary Athletes is all about fitness by (xtra!)ordinary people, for (xtra!)ordinary people, meant to fit into your (XTRA)ordinary schedule - aka your super busy, no-time-left-in-the-day schedule. No gimmicks. No false promises. No exaggerated and unrealistic goals. Just a bunch of helpful fitness, health, and nutrition advice and workouts based on sound, research-based knowledge. Our goal is to help anyone, no matter your age, abilities, current fitness level, or schedule, fit fitness into your life, so you can feel good, look good, and give your health a boost in a sustainable way.
